Integration
Aspyra's clinical information and diagnostic solutions follow industry standards to integrate and share data with systems such as a Hospital Information System (HIS), Electronic Medical Record system (EMR), imaging equipment such as modalities and image viewing stations, and others.HL7 — HL7 (Health Level Seven) is a group of industry experts and information scientists that create standards for the sharing (exchange), management and integration of electronic health information. The goal is to promote effective and efficient delivery of healthcare information. This standard establishes a message format used to communicate this healthcare data between HL7 compliant systems. It enables you and your healthcare vendors to easily integrate your existing systems and equipment for greater benefits. Aspyra's HL7 interfaces reduce medical errors with less redundant entry, improves turnaround with quicker transfer of data between systems, and ensures consistency within the patient's medical record. You can find more information about HL7 at www.hl7.org DICOM — The Digital Image Communication in Medicine (DICOM) standard provides a common language to transfer healthcare information between Aspyra's PACS system (AccessNET) and other medical imaging equipment, such as modalities, image viewers, and storage systems. For example, if a technologist performs an exam using a DICOM compliant ultrasound, the technologist can send the exam images from the ultrasound to AccessNET immediately after accomplishing the exam. Once AccessNET has stored the images, these images are available to all approved healthcare personnel. By integrating healthcare systems via DICOM, you can increase communication between departments and provide a higher level of patient care. IHE promotes the coordinated use of established standards such as DICOM and HL7 to address specific clinical needs in support of optimal patient care. Systems developed in accordance with IHE communicate with one another better, are easier to implement, and enable care providers to use information more effectively.
